Our Understanding of the Nature of Reality

The Inner Life Society embraces the following understanding of the nature of Consciousness, Existence and Reality. The Infinite Source is our all-sufficient source for faith and practice. This statement of our Fundamental Tenets is intended as a basis of fellowship among us. No claim is made that it contains all truths about Infinity, only that it covers our need.

1. THE DIVINE SINGULARITY
We understand that only the Infinite Source (Infinity) exists. Infinity is the conscious life force, energy matrix and authentic power source that permeates and connects all. It is the totality of existence. Existence is multidimensional and is the ultimate reality containing all known and unknown realities.

2. ALL LIFE A SACRED REVELATION
All life is one life—the life of the Infinite Source. Infinity reveals and experiences its divinity, power and potential ongoingly through all and to all without exception.

3. THE LIVING SCRIPTURE
Life, Nature, the Universe and Existence are inspired, living scriptures of the Infinite Source, which can be studied and understood directly with a quiet, profoundly meditative mind. The living scriptures reveal the ultimate truth and the ultimate reality.

4. CREATION: EVERYTHING IS ENERGY
All things in creation—visible and invisible—are distinct yet inseparable reflections and manifestations within the infinite, divine energy that has brought them into being. All things are therefore divine and energetic in nature.

5. ENERGY AND CONSCIOUSNESS
Energy cannot be created nor destroyed; it can only be transformed. Thought, intention, and consciousness transform and direct energy. Directed energy vibrates or resonates in a particular way and, as a result, manifests as a particular substance, form, experience and/or reality that reflects the driving consciousness behind it. All manifestations are finite and transient expressions of Infinity.

6. HUMANKIND
Humankind as a collective, and the individual human entity, is a divine, energetic being or energy system (like all lifeforms of the known and unknown worlds) existing simultaneously in multiple dimensions and realities. The human soul or spirit is a body of energy imbued with consciousness. The human body, the human life experience, and their condition are a reflection and manifestation of the quality of those integrated forces.

a) SPIRITUAL SLEEP AND AWAKENING
Spiritual sleep is the state in which consciousness, energy, and/or self-awareness contracts or densifies into a particular shape, pattern or form and forgets its true identity. Spiritual awakening is the process by which consciousness, energy, and/or self-awareness expands toward the formlessness of Infinity and remembers the totality of itself. Humankind faces a most important challenge to awaken from a deep, collective, spiritual sleep.

b) SPIRITUAL IDENTITY
Identification with Infinite Source (not its finite and transient manifestations) leads to spiritual awakening, is the correct understanding of self and existence; and is the key to enlightened living in perfect harmony, balance, and bliss with all.

c) SEPARATION
Identification with, as well as judgment of, the finite and transient manifestations of existence (including the physical, mental and emotional self) creates the illusion of separation from the Infinite Source; contracts and densifies the energy system in a debilitating way; and is the cause of all suffering, disease, turmoil, cruelty, spiritual ignorance, and spiritual sleep.

d) SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility and divine evolutionary plan of Humankind and every entity to move toward enlightenment. True enlightenment is an internal process that comes only through direct experience with Infinite Source.

7. EVIDENCE OF ENLIGHTENMENT
The effortless, authentic and constant demonstration (through thought, word, action and inaction) of divine love, creative power, potential, and wisdom to all entities without exception is evidence of enlightenment and conscious union with Infinity.

8. DIVINE HEALING
Physical, mental and emotional sickness is the result of energetic imbalance, stagnation of the life force, and a perceived disconnection in consciousness from the Infinite Source. Healing from sickness is ultimately achieved by restoring the balance, flow, and connection of divine energy and consciousness. Healing takes place through the application of divine energy medicine (Essential Energy) which is administered by many methods including (but not limited to): touch (such as the laying on of hands), shamanic healing, thought, prayer, healing light or sound, and the anointing of oil. The substance of Essential Energy is also derived from ingesting, applying or preparing (heating, grinding, soaking, etc.) the natural growing things of the Earth such as herbs, flowers, plants, fruits, vegetables, etc. Divine healing power is inherent in all, and all shall have the right to its cultivation and use.

9. PSYCHIC AND SUPERNATURAL POWER
What manifests in the human experience as psychic or supernatural power is, in short, a reflection of the nature of energy and consciousness, which both are reflections of the omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence of the Infinite Source. Possession of psychic or supernatural power (by any lifeform), however, is not in itself evidence of enlightenment. Therefore the demonstration, development and use of such abilities (in whatever form or capacity) is encouraged for the purpose of aiding the enlightenment, growth, healing, empowerment and spiritual advisement of self and others.

10. DEATH AND REBIRTH
The conscious energy system that is the soul or spirit of the human individual survives beyond physical death. Death is the journey of that soul toward conscious reintegration with the Infinite Source from which it came. Reintegration after death occurs if sufficient spiritual substance and energy for enlightenment has been accumulated in life. If such has not been accumulated, rebirth or reincarnation occurs into another existence, the details of which are in accordance with the amount and quality of spiritual substance that one has been able to retain. The cycle of death and rebirth continues until enlightenment is achieved.

11. THE SOCIETY AND THE MINISTRY
We uphold that the true home, workplace and playground of Infinity is the self, and that every consciousness contains within it the seeds for enlightenment and divine self-awareness. Every entity that cultivates these inner seeds becomes a force that exponentially amplifies the power of Infinity within others. Therefore we believe in spiritual gathering and the cooperation of entities in cultivating those seeds in self and others. A divinely inspired and ordained ministry has been created by Infinity itself for the cultivation of such seeds.

12. ORDINATION
Those who are inspired by Infinite Source to cultivate enlightenment and healing are to be recognized by appointment and ordination.

13. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE
We believe that the state should have no power to intervene in the free expression of religious liberty or interfere with the organization’s spiritual mission to raise humankind’s spiritual vibration and create the conditions for an enlightened society. Separation of church and state does not mean that members of the organization should not influence the state but that the church should not control the state nor should the state control the church. We further believe that every human being has direct relations with the Infinite Source and should be free to demonstrate and honor that relationship according to the dictates of his or her conscience.
